Check to see if NMEA Output is activated on a Trimble GeoExplorer 6000
Instructions provided describe how to determine if the NMEA Output option has been enabled for the Trimble GeoExplorer 6000.
The Trimble GeoExplorer 6000 does not output NMEA protocol by default. NMEA output is necessary if ArcPad is to be used on the 6000 series device unless the Trimble GPScorrect extension is installed. If the Trimble GPScorrect extension is installed, then ArcPad can utilize the Trimble GPScorrect protocol.
There is an upgrade available that enables the GeoExplorer 6000 to produce a NMEA output.
1.Turn on the mobile device and go to Start/Settings/System/System Information.
2.Click on the arrow to the right of 'Device' on the gray header bar.
3.Navigate to 'Options'. This screen shows whether or not the NMEA and Floodlight options have been activated.
4.If activation is necessary, click the 'Activate Options' button. Within 'Activate Options' there is the option to automatically check for purchased options or to manually activate options via an XML activation file obtained from Trimble.
